Private Lessons
The Amateur Musicians goal is to simplify the booking and scheduling process as much as possible, within the limitations of the systems I can afford at any given moment. The result of this, however, is that I have structured everything in a way that hopefully reduces the burden of refunds and rescheduling.
The goal is to never have to refund any money for lessons missed, and so consider the following commitments:
Refund and Reschedule ethos
In the booking process, the student only needs to book the first lesson, and I will then block out the following three or four lessons (depending on the month in which the first lesson is booked) at the exact same time in the following weeks. If you wish to book in advance, please book your first month of lessons and then discuss your requirements with me.
On the occasion that a lesson cannot be attended by either the student or myself, we will make every attempt to reschedule within the month period wherein the lesson has to fall. Lessons will under no circumstances be postponed into the next period (no lesson will be postponed longer than 30 days away from the first booked and payed for lesson in the period).
If the lesson has been postponed to the 30th day after the first booked lesson in the period, and the lesson is once again missed, the lesson will be considered forfeited. If the lesson was booked and cancelled by me, a refund for that lesson will be arranged. If the lesson was booked and then cancelled by the student, the standard practice will be to not provide a refund.
The goal here is that all lessons will be rescheduled and actually attended within the month period which has been paid for. Knowing that this is the goal, everything will be evaluated through this lens when determining solutions to unavailability, whether mine or the students.
Please be willing to discuss unavailability with me and let us discuss amicable solutions taking into account the nature of the circumstances and the costs incurred by losing open lesson times.

Package Courses
Refund ethos
Package courses are offered as a product. The price paid for the course if completely for permanent access to the course video content. The service of being able to contact me with questions and feedback is offered as a complementary service and carries no weight on the cost of access.
The nature of video courses like these makes it difficult to provide a refund under any circumstance. Once you have made payment, you get access to a permanent download of the content, and so you have received the full value for your purchase instantly.
The course makes no chronological guarantees as to how quickly you will be able to play your instrument, because your practice schedule and commitment to your instrument have a larger impact on your ability to play than the content of the course does.
If you are completely unhappy with the content of the course and the complementary service provided, please discuss this with me and we can attempt to come to an amicable solution. I do believe that access to the video content is already money well spent, and the added complementary service of access to communication with me is an added value that assists in ironing out any challenges you may have with the course content. Please make use of this service responsibly.
Thanks for your understanding.
