PACKAGE COURSES

The most flexible and convenient way to learn to play your instrument of choice, my Package Courses are pre-recorded video music lessons targeted at getting you up and running on your instrument with the most ease and flexibility in order to accommodate your busy lifestyle.

Each Instrument option will eventually have 5 different levels of courses.

The Foundations Course is more an informative orientation lesson recommended for any musician or someone who wishes to learn an instrument. Learn about the origins, design features, sound and musical contribution of your instrument of choice. 1 lesson. Cost: R150

The First Steps Course will begin assuming that you cannot play your instrument of choice at all, and get you to a place where you can play some basic common phrases and hopefully get you comfortably playing your first songs, importantly, with a great foundation for future courses. 10 lessons. Cost: R1500

The Player Course assumes you can play the instrument of choice at a basic level. If you play your instrument already but are unsure where you fit in the scale, I’d recommend this as a ‘best case scenario’ starting point. Don’t discount the First Steps course for ensuring you have all the fundamentals in place. 10 lessons. Cost: R1500

The Amateur Musician #1 & #2 courses will focus on venturing into more advanced concepts and techniques. The goal is not to teach you all the advanced techniques, but rather to equip you to handle as many situations as possible without the need for a teacher at every corner. If you’re a proficient player already, these courses will give you some tools for improving and extending your musical vocabulary. This is definitely not a magic pill, but it will definitely fortify your musical knowledge to give you a sense of confidence that you can keep up in advanced musical environments enough to learn and grow from the musicians around you. 10 lessons. The Amateur Musician Concept

The idea of these pre-recorded lessons is not only to provide you a video music lesson that you can follow along on your instrument, or to ensure that these lessons cover enough detail that you aren’t left with 100 questions after each lesson. My hope is that if you sit through the lesson and take the time to understand the concepts, and then practice regularly according to the practice ideas provided in the Guided Practice Lessons, that you would be able to develop yourself as a musician in your own time, at your own pace, without the need for external interference.

Each level contains 10 different video lessons together with some supplemental documentation. Ideally you could do each level over a 10 week period if you spent enough time practicing the concepts and techniques taught. To accomplish this, watch lesson 1, and for your next practice session (the next day ideally), watch the next video which is a Guided Practice Lesson. Then practice according to those practice ideas for the next two weeks as much as possible before watching the next lesson and practicing according to the next Guided Practice Lesson. This process should produce an incredibly good basis for playing your instrument.
